- Sounds good to me. I believe HC is Oct. 17th this year (we play Ft. Valley State). Count me in, I will talk it up on my homefront. Are you going to arrange for a meet-up at a local restaurant? Before the game? After the game? What about ticket arrangements to the game? Keep me in the loop. Would like to see Fuzzy again. Is Leroy Jones living in Houston? I see Coach Archie on occasion. We talked about you and your career. Coach Archie had a great career at Norfolk State in various positions. Talk to you soon.

- Hey T-Bird, I will make plans to go to homecoming this year; it is always a good time. Hope to see you then, so I am looking forward to the occasion. I am trying to get your book on Kelly, no luck yet, but I will keep trying. Do you know Lisa Webb? She and her husband are members of DAP, and they host a national age group championship swim meet each year in Georgia. I just read about her, and I thought of you and Johnny Means. Stay in touch.

- Hey T-Bird, I am not lost on your nickname and your contributions in swimming. It is so good to hear from you, this network does work. We have much catching up to do. No, I have not kept up with Briggs (not for lack of trying), he stopped returning my calls. Fuzzy and I attended Ace's funeral about 10-12 years ago. I was sorry to hear about Coach Jones; I will pray for his full recovery. And congratulate Johnny Means for me - sounds like he has done an outstanding job with aquatics. We do need to get together to swap stories, etc. I am considering attending homecoming this year for two r4easons: (1) to see you and Johnny, and everyone else; and (2) this is my 50th year in Kappa Alpha Psi. I have stayed financial over the years, and will enjoy seeing brothers like Staple Haynes, Fred Matthews, Herb Smith, Charles Handy, etc. Please send me a copy of Kelly's book, I want to purchase one; I am sure I can get it through Amazon.com. Take care, and best to you. And retirement is a good thing - if you choose, it is an opportunity to get another paycheck (smile).

- Asssociates with aquatics since Jr. high school. Swam in H.S. and college. Coached swimming at HS, College, Summer league, Club and YMCA.. Administired city league swimming competition sports program and athletic administration at collegiate level.

Published two books on competitive swimming. First book "Swimming Against the Odds" conveys how a competitive swimming program for minorities was started and succeeded in the inner city of Houston. Second book "Shimmy to Gold: Kelley's Story" is about the exploits of and African American female who wanted to achieve at the elite levels of competitive swimming in America. The book begins with her first efforts in summer league competition , age group, High school , collegiate competition and then on to Olympic trials competition. Both books are available through Author House publisher and major book stores (i.e .Barnes and Nobles, Amazon, etc.)

I'm not sure I know Lisa Webb in Atlanta. Our swim team (HCAP) has attended a swim meet in Atlanta for many years. It was named the Chris Silva Invitational National Black Championship Meet. It is good to hear from you and I look forward to seeing you during homecoming.
