Tim,
I enjoyed our conversation yesterday, lets be sure to stay in contact over the next few weeks, I think we can get the mentoring program off the ground by the end of the month.

About Me:
I've been a competitive swimmer all my life. From 1993-1999 (age 6-12), I swam for the Bluefish Swim Club, one of the premier USA Swimming teams in the country. In college, I swam for Washington and Lee University, where I was a 9-time NCAA All-American, 4-time school record holder, and a co-captain of the team. Now that my NCAA career is over, I'm interested in promoting competitive swimming within the black community. I also want to volunteer my time as a swimming instructor. As a black man, I know what it's like to be at a swim meet with 200-300 swimmers and only 2 or 3 of us are black. Also, it hurts me deeply to hear about young children and adults drowning in the ocean and in back yard pools. For those of us who are fortunate enough to have had excellent swimming instruction, it is our duty to pass these lessons on to others. I hope that through this network I can connect with others who are working very hard to promote the sport and to teach those who never learned to swim.
