Just recently came back from diving in Morehead City North Carolina for "Wreckfest" sponserd by the Nubians Divers of Charlotte, NC. Drove down with follow AVSC member Joel Brisco and Reggie Callander.
Due to the weather conditions we could not dive the Spar Wreck or the U-boat 352 wreck. However, the dives that we did do was great.
Hope to return next year.

Hey Folks,

I'm trying to round up a few folks to meet me down in Athens, Tennessee at Loch Low Minn to do some scuba diving next Saturday May 23 around 9 am. I'm hoping a few folks from my dive club will join me but I'd love to meet some of you too. So if you're in the area come on down and LET'S DIVE!

Greetings: Starting next week April 20-May 2 , 40 members of the National Association of Black SCUBA Divers ,will converge on Florida City Fl . We are taking a course in underwater archeology . A course developed by NABS. in conjunction with the National Park Service. Why are we learning these new skills?
There are slave ships in the Florida Keys area and around the world and when they are found, we want to be the first ones to dive and document this important piece of history and also pay homage to our enslaved African Brother and Sisters who came over during the Middle Passage.. I will keep you up dated you on our progress . Ken Stewart

Upon returning from a trip to the "Tidewater Area" of Virginia, where I had the opportunity to partake in the 5th annual "April Pools' Day" event, an aquatic
safety workshop, under the direction of Shaun Anderson, Aquatics Director
and Professor at Norfolk State University, I read that Ken Stewart, TAP Founder
and Executive Director and Ms. Kim Yarbrough, Southern Representative for the
National Association of Black Scuba Divers, Inc. recently experienced a wonderful and exciting expedition to South Africa, where they had the opportunity to SCUBA Dive and go on a Safari in the "Motherland." As Ken is a
member of the DAP Network and several of its Affiliated Groups, hopefully we
can get him to share some of his photos and experiences in South Africa.

The "April Pools' Day" event was excellent and well planned. Most areas of
Aquatics were represented with professionals in Boating, Canoeing, Kayaking,
Competitive Swimming, Recreational Swimming, Life Saving & Rescue, water
Aerobics,SCUBA diving, and Snorkeling. All Presentations and Demonstrations
emphasized Safety and Safe Practices. At the SCUBA diving station, I had the
pleasure of working with Errol Duplessis, CEO of Lake Rawlings Dive Resort,
Clifton Hicks, president of the "Black Dolphin Divers" of Richmond, Va. and
"Jerry," former NAUI Regional Representative, and graduate of the U.S. Naval
Academy in Annapolis, MD. Also in attendance was Regina Mobley, TV News
Commentator, who is on the verge of completing her Open Water Scuba Certification. This networking experience also provided me with the opportunity
to meet and greet Jayson Jackson, Creator of the DAP Network, Wanda Butts,
Founder & Executive director of the "Josh Project" and "FLOAT." and others.
